United States
Mobilizing American youth to help fight against hunger, poverty and social injustice is one of Mercy Corps' most central strategies.
Not only is the United States Mercy Corps' birthplace, but it's also where some of our most significant work takes place. We've responded to domestic disasters such as 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina with programs that helped traumatized children heal and affected citizens organize to recover and rebuild. Today, our emphasis is on inspiring people to take action through innovative programs such as Mercy Corps Northwest, Global Citizen Corps, MicroMentor and the new Action Centers.
