Child Survival
More than half the world's children live in poverty, according to the UN. They're trapped by conflict, hunger, lack of water and too few schools. Poverty is cruelest to children, depriving them of homes, family, health and opportunity.
Mercy Corps realizes that children are especially vulnerable to crisis — yet also remarkably resilient and resourceful. We believe that the transformation of communities and countries begins with the encouragement and education of their children. Our child survival programs create feeding centers that prevent malnutrition, open and staff health clinics, establish schools and create peaceful change so that children are given what they need most: a chance to grow.
